Founded in 1998 by the renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Harsha Bhattacharjee, Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya (SSN) has grown from a modest clinic into one of the most advanced and trusted eye care hospitals in Eastern India. 1. What is the cost of Cataract Surgery at SSN?
The cost varies depending on the type of intraocular lens (IOL) chosen. Standard monofocal IOL surgery starts from ₹25,000 per eye. Premium IOLs (Multifocal, Toric, EDOF) range from ₹45,000 to ₹85,000 per eye. We provide detailed cost breakdowns during your pre-surgical consultation. We also have subsidized schemes for economically weaker patients.
2. Do you accept health insurance?
Yes, we have cashless tie-ups with all major third-party administrators (TPAs) and insurance companies, including Star Health, ICICI Lombard, HDFC Ergo, New India Assurance, and United India. Our insurance desk will assist you with the paperwork. Please bring your insurance card and ID proof during admission.
3. How long does LASIK recovery take?
Most patients experience significantly improved vision within 24 hours. You can resume non-strenuous work and daily activities the next day. However, it's advised to avoid swimming, heavy exercise, and rubbing your eyes for two weeks. Full stabilization of vision occurs over 3-6 months. Detailed post-op instructions will be provided.
